This one’s for travelers chasing the two heavyweights of Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh tourism in a single trip: the Taj Mahal and the Pink City. Two days, one night, zero wasted time — you leave Delhi in the morning, stand in front of the Taj by late morning, and by the next evening you’ve walked through forts, palaces, and an 18th-century observatory in Jaipur before heading back.
It works because Agra and Jaipur sit on more or less the same route out of Delhi, just in different directions of the same broad arc — which is exactly why this pairing (along with Delhi) forms the classic Golden Triangle. Agra gives you Mughal architecture at its absolute peak. Jaipur gives you the Rajput counterpoint — hill forts, painted havelis, and palace complexes built by rulers who were, for centuries, both rivals and in-laws of the Mughals next door. Seeing both back to back makes the history click in a way that reading about either city alone doesn’t.

Full Tour Itinerary
Day 1 Delhi to Agra, and On to Jaipur
You’re picked up from your hotel or the airport in Delhi at 6:30 AM. The drive to Agra takes roughly 3 hours, and once you arrive, your local guide takes over from there.
First stop is the Taj Mahal — non-negotiable, obviously, and worth every bit of the early start once you’re standing in front of it. From there, you move on to Agra Fort, the red sandstone fortress that was the Mughal seat of power before Shah Jahan’s son had him confined there with a view of the very monument he’d built. There’s a lunch break worked into the day between these two stops, so you’re not doing heavyweight sightseeing on an empty stomach.
Once Agra wraps up, it’s back in the car for the drive to Jaipur — about 4 hours. On arrival, you check into your hotel and settle in for the night.
Day 2 Jaipur Sightseeing, Then Back to Delhi
After breakfast and checkout, your driver and guide pick you up from the hotel and head straight into Jaipur’s sightseeing circuit. The day covers:
- Amber Fort, including the elephant ride up to the entrance
- Jal Mahal, the palace that sits in the middle of Man Sagar Lake
- Hawa Mahal, Jaipur’s famous pink façade of latticed windows
- City Palace, still partly occupied by Jaipur’s former royal family
- Jantar Mantar, the observatory with giant stone instruments that still track the sun accurately
- Patrika Gate, one of the city’s newer but heavily photographed landmarks
There’s a lunch break built in after the sightseeing, and once that’s done, you’re driven back to Delhi — another 4-hour drive, putting you back in the city around 8–9 PM. From there, your driver drops you at your hotel or straight at the airport, depending on what your onward plans look like.
