Golden Triangle with Wildlife: Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary & Ranthambore Tiger Reserve
This 8-day tour combines the Golden Triangle — Delhi, Agra, Jaipur — with two of India’s most significant wildlife destinations: Keoladeo Ghana National Park in Bharatpur and Ranthambore National Park, one of the country’s best-known tiger reserves. It’s built for travelers who want Mughal architecture and Rajput heritage on one half of the trip, and genuine wildlife tracking on the other, without the itinerary feeling split in two.
The tour opens in Delhi, covering Jama Masjid (completed 1656), a walk through Chandni Chowk, and an exterior view of Red Fort (1648, UNESCO-listed since 2007), followed by India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhawan, Humayun’s Tomb (1570, UNESCO since 1993), and Qutub Minar (73m, begun 1193). From there, the tour moves to Agra for a sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal (completed 1653, UNESCO since 1983) and Agra Fort (construction began 1565), with a stop at Fatehpur Sikri — Akbar’s capital, built 1571 and abandoned within roughly 15 years — en route to Bharatpur.
In Bharatpur, the tour covers Keoladeo Ghana National Park by rickshaw, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985 and home to over 370 recorded bird species, including migratory storks and pelicans that arrive seasonally from as far as Siberia. The tour then continues to Ranthambore National Park, spread across roughly 1,334 sq km including its buffer zone, and one of India’s most reliable locations for daytime Bengal tiger sightings due to the park’s relatively open terrain. Two guided safaris — one at sunrise, one in the afternoon — are included, led by a park naturalist.
The final leg brings travelers to Jaipur, the Pink City, for Amber Fort (1592, part of the UNESCO-listed Hill Forts of Rajasthan) with an elephant ride to the fort gate, Hawa Mahal (1799, 953 windows), Jantar Mantar (1734), and City Palace, followed by time in Jaipur’s bazaars for textiles, gemstones, and handicrafts before the drive back to Delhi for departure.
